Just like the rumors, Apple did release new Mac Mini and a boombox called iPod Hi-Fi. The Mac Mini is the first Mac Mini with Intel processors and there are two type of processor you can choose, the Core Duo and the and Core Solo.
Intel Core Duo is a dual core processor, which is actually two processors built into a single chip. Intel Core Solo is the scaled down version of Intel Core Duo with one core. The Core Duo Mac Mini runs at 1.67 GHz while the Core Solo version runs at 1.5 GHz. Both Mac Mini comes with a default RAM of 512 MB, which you can upgrade to 1GB or 2GB.
Instead of having a stand alone graphic card with it’s own RAM, the new Mac Mini featured integrated Intel Intel GMA950 graphic processor. The Intel GMA950 graphics shares a minimum of of 80 MB RAM. Tests results of Intel GMA950 graphic by ExtremeTech is available if you want to know how this integrated GPU performs. A RAM upgrade is recommended if you plan to purchase the Intel Mac Mini.
Just like the last few Apple computers, the Mac Mini comes with Apple Remote and Front Row software. The Front Row application is now updated allowing you to access your shared iPhoto and iTunes Libraries.
The old PowerPC G4 Mac Mini is no longer available on Apple Store but you can probably find them on eBay.
